DRESS CODE DILEMMA
Tis’ the season of itchy eyes and pollen allergies (for those of you who have hayfever that is). Don’t worry, there are many ups to the fashion side of Spring. Many colourful clothes come out during Spring, along with exciting patterns and warm energy. This season is leading right into Summer so there is less need for turtlenecks and hundreds of layers. But we’re still in New Zealand and let’s be real, it NEVER gets that warm unless it’s actually Summer.
As it gets warmer, there always seem to be more gatherings (attentive to COVID of course). As people love to hang out in groups especially around Spring and Summer. Neither cold nor hot, it's very hard to find good outfits that will keep you just warm enough but not overheat. It’s especially hard if your school has a casual dress code as the weather factor adds to the struggle to pick your clothes in the morning. Springtime is perfect for dinner parties, weddings and lunch outings with friends. So to save you some struggle here are some tasteful outfit ideas that fit perfectly into this sun-blinding, cold season.

DINNER/LUNCH OUTINGS
The trouble with public outings with friends is that you never match no matter how much you plan ahead. One person always looks like a middle aged person and the other looks like their moody teenage kid. The hard thing is finding the balance between the two and still looking very stylish and Spring ready. My two personal favourite instagrams for casual/dressy Spring outfits; @romeobeckham for guys. The son of David and Victoria Beckham is always well dressed but has also developed his own sense of style. Mia Regan @mimimoocher is the Queen of Spring colours. She also has a very unique sense of style and is also funnily enough, dating Romeo. There is lots of colour on both their instagram posts and they definitely seem like a mix and match couple.

NON-UNIFORM SCHOOL/UNI FITS
As a uniform school gal, the only times I wear casual clothing are on the weekend and during holidays. But if our school were to become non-uniform, fashion vlogger @rubylyn would be the first instagram I would go to for a very casual but sophisticated schoolworthy Spring inspo. If you’re looking for more masculine outfits I would suggest her model/stylist/YouTuber boyfriend @lucafersko (seeing we have a theme here 👀) who also has impeccable street style. This New York couple will teach you that a simple accessory can upgrade a whole outfit.

DATE NIGHT
Well well well, here we are once more. Throwing multiple outfits onto your bed to find something suitable to wear for your date. It also depends what date location you have planned. You don’t really want to be going to a bowling alley in your most formal outfit with your favourite Nike dunks that would surely get creased. A great suggestion is to bring a light sweater or cardigan to wear over your outfit if you’re going out at night. Of course if you’re staying at home, a nice lounge set or sweats will do. Go 'rockstar couple' with a smoky eye like @nicolaannepeltz and @brooklynbeckham. 'Casual but sophisticated' like @linmick and @hellyeahtyler or coordinate like @tacodaaa and @kenzie.
