BENEE
A kiwi rockstar am I right? Benee's first song came out in 2017 and has grown 9,299,315 Spotify followers in just 4 years! Absolutely bonkers! Her music has such a particular sound that makes it her own and she kills it. Benee's lyrics aren't the basic “he broke up with me, I'm so sad” it's more like “I am a spider, creep up behind ya”- catch my drift? Use of sneaky creative metaphors are like no other. Not to mention Benee's style is immaculate with outfits including multiple earrings, mega rings and a mis-matched top and bottoms, mighty fineeee. Some of her songs include Evil Spider, Find an Island, Soaked and Monsta.

SEAN KINGSTON
Beautiful Girls - Sean Kingston
Beautiful Girls is one of the catchiest songs that came out in 2008 and will never get bored of hearing it. The soothing beat will never fail to make me bob my head and let out a wee tune. It's the kind of song that you can play at a group event, school trip or a party and everyone will at least be able to sing the chorus. Everyone will recognise the song by the “JR SEAN KINGSTON” at the start you know it's gonna be a right banger. It's not a song that I have on my daily playlist but it's a very ‘feel good’ song and it still gets your groove on.

LANA DEL RAY
Summertime Sadness - Lana Del Ray
Lan del ray, an icon, one of a kind. Summertime Sadness is such a graceful song and will honestly get you in your feels for not only the lyrics but the powerful instrumentals too! The song is based on Del Rey's best friend's suicide in the summer of 2012 hence the title ‘Summertime Sadness”. No wonder this song is full of emotions. She brings her feelings into all factors of the song, the orchestra and the vocals. Lana’s vocal range is incredible and all her songs have those melancholy nostalgic chords that makes you feel like you’re slow-mo running down the beach at sunset. This is why we stan Queen Lana.

FRANK OCEAN
Lost - Frank Ocean
I'm into the kinds of songs that have a sick beat. Not the basic four chords but the songs that are real groovy with the bass guitar and badass riffs. Or drum beats that make you want to be able to play the drums. This song has it baby. It's another catchy one about a girl, surprised? Not at all. The song is based on a girl who is a drug dealer around the globe “Miami, Amsterdam, Tokyo, Spain losttttt” lots of places by the sounds of it. Lost came out in 2012 even though I only heard it first a couple months ago, I listen to it before I go into school so I'm not in such a grump. Another feel good song for your playlist!

KALI UCHIS
This American-Colombian singer-songwriter has an incredibly unique voice and songs that showcase both her languages which is really beautiful. The first song I heard by Kali was ‘Dead To Me’ from her album Isolation. Her songs always have a very dancey tune and the lyrics are quite sassy so if you’re like me you automatically learn the lyrics whether you notice it or not. The most recent song (and my favourite) is ‘Telepatía’ which, let’s not lie, I heard it on TikTok first and thought that the soft beats and angelic singing were absolutely mesmerising.

REMI WOLF
Only very recently discovered by me; 25 year old Remi Wolf is THE MOST VIBEY PERSON I SWEAR. Some of her songs you might've heard on TikTok such as Photo ID and Hello Hello Hello. Honestly just have a listen and a good bop. 'OK' by Wallows, Remi Wolf and Solomonophonic is DEFINITELY my fave and a go-to in art class at school. Apart from her impeccable style she also has the tickets merchandise linked below :)
